  Adelaide Festival Centre's annual OzAsia Festival celebrates the richness and diversity of our Australian and Asian culture and presents works from Australians who identify with an Asian heritage, collaborative work between Australian and Asian artists and a diversity of contemporary and traditional cultur experiences from Asia. It is the only event of its kind in Australia. Each year, the two week event features cross-cultural theatre, dance and music performances, visual arts exhibitions, films, food events, workshops and the Moon Lantern Festival - a free family event on the banks the River Torrens where visitors can enjoy multicultural performances, sample a variety of Asian cuisine and goods at the market stalls, try out different workshops and see the spectacular lantern parade light up Elder Park at dusk. • 24th Australian Springtime Flora Festival: 9 - 12 Sep 2010
  Venue: Mount Penang Parklands, Kariong, New South Wales, 2250
  
  This award winning event is one of the largest and most popular flora events in Australia. Interspersed among the flora displays and landscaped garden settings will be displays by associated commercial suppliers who help to provide the visitor with a total picture of outdoor garden, lifestyle and home living. In total there will be over 300 displays to view. Visitors will be able to enjoy the entertainment or watch minstrels and other entertainers mixing with the crowd to create a unique atmosphere of fun and relaxation. At the nearby children's activity area, children will be entertained and educated while providing a break for parents. Vibrant colour, constant entertainment, activity and an atmosphere of fun epitomise this Festival which caters to all members of the family.   Sailor, spectator or passerby, Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week is sure to leave a lasting impression this September! You won't want to miss the Race Week Shoreside Party with live music, fireworks, a chance to mingle with the competitors and much, much more. If you want to get amongst the racing action out on the water, visit the website and see how you can book a spot on the Sunferries Spectator Boat and enjoy the best seats in the house in air conditioned comfort, nibbles, on board commentary and a licensed bar available. Magnetic Island is the place to be over the first weekend in September with something happening all over the island every day during Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week.

  The Cyprus Foods and Wine Festival is a family event and will showcase the famous Cypriot Commandaria wine which is one of the oldest wines on earth. There will be a fusion of musical acts, dance performances, delicious Mediterranean food to enjoy and Australian wine makers will be there to promote their products and showcase the history of wine making.

  Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is an annual event which celebrates all the "Garden City" has to offer. With the Flower, Food and Wine Festival, the ever-vibrant Floral Parade, hundreds of parks and blossoming gardens to explore, the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers has something for everyone. • Bowral Tulip Time: 21 Sep - 4 Oct 2010

  Tulip Time, Bowral is one of Australia's oldest and most beautiful flora festivals, and Australia's premier event. Corbett Gardens has over 100,000 tulips and 25,000 annuals on spectacular display. The Festival includes a variety of food and craft stalls, entertainment including clowns, music, folk dancers and daily "Talks and Tours" of Corbett Gardens. The first weekend will feature a Garden Festival, which features specialist nurseries, talks about plants, while the long weekend will feature a Food and Wine Festival showcasing local produce and wine. The annual street parade will go ahead as usual on Saturday 25 September, commencing at 3pm. Visit some of Australia's best and most beautiful private gardens which are open to the public during Tulip Time. Also, take advantage of the 'Talk and Tour's that are conducted of Corbett Gardens each day at 11.30am.
  
  

• Australian University Games: 26 Sep - 1 Oct 2010

  Perth will host thousands of interstate university students who will compete in nearly 30 different sports over five days of competition in September at venues right across the city. The Games are recognised as a perfect opportunity to provide university athletes, many of whom are of Olympic standard, to compete against each other in a national multi-sport event. As such, the Games have built up a reputation as a not-to-be-missed event, attracting over 6,000 participants each year. Off the sporting field, an action-packed, week-long social program is held to complement sporting activities and enhance the event experience for all participants.
