• Summernats Car Festival: 7 - 10 January 2010

  Summernats - show cars, street machines, burn outs and full throttle entertainment. Australia’s ultimate car show, Summernats is a spectator’s paradise with plenty of things to see and do throughout the weekend. Check out glistening show cars, visit the traders’ pavilions, and listen to live bands. There’s entertainment and displays for the whole family, with a dedicated Kids Zone for the littlies. Motoring enthusiasts will get a kick out of burn out competitions, the awesome supercruise of street machines, heart-pumping drag racing, and the sheer volume of the audio system sound off. The Miss Summernats competition is an annual favourite. There’s a huge fireworks and stunt display on Saturday night. • Freestyle Sports Expo: 15 - 16 January 2010

  A Freestyle Expo like no other. The event will have Freestyle Motocross, BMX, water skiing includes barefoot, slalom, freestyle jumping and even Sampson the monster truck. A two day event beginning on Friday night at the Mulwala Water Ski Club and Saturday at the Mulwala Water Ski Park, this is a family event that is definitely not to be missed. You will not be disappointed!

• Wines of the West Festival: 23 - 24 January 2010

  The Katoomba Chamber of Commerce and Community are again holding the Wines of the West Festival in the opulent Grand Dining Room of the Carrington Hotel. Last year the event attracted over 800 enthusiastic wine connoisseurs, all eager to taste and learn more about the regions fine wineries. Organizers are confident that the festival numbers will be up this year with an increased number of wineries, a distiller and a boutique brewery attending from the Central West and Blue Mountains. Featured are wine exhibitors from the Bathurst, Mudgee, Cowra and Orange regions. Proceeds from the event go towards the further improvement of facilities in Katoomba.

• Heineken Hottest 7's in the World: 23 - 24 January 2010

  A fantastic opportunity to watch seven-a-side international rugby union played. The Heineken Hottest 7's in the World is a Rugby 7's competition conducted in Darwin over two days with participation of teams from overseas, interstate, intrastate and from Darwin. With prize money of AUD60,000.00, it ranks as the leading prize money 7's event in Australia. Teams that have participated in the past have been the Aussie Spirit, South Sea Drifters, Digicel Barbarians - Samoa (2009 winners), Hong Kong Dragons, Country King Browns, Ronin Impact, Australian Rugy Legends, Global Fiji Samurai, Uprising Beach Resort, Red Rock Rugby Club and Randwick. A women's competition will also be conducted. There will be food, drink and bar outlets.

  The Murray River International Music Festival began as an initiative of Stefano de Pieri and Helen Healy and has been running for sx years. It is a fine music festival presenting world class Australian and International musicians to audiences in unique locations along the Murray River including Mildura. Each day of the program provides world class performances combined with master-classes, workshops and school visits. The artists perform in a variety of venues ranging from riverside settings to riverboats, wineries to regional arts venues. The Murray River International Music Festival provides a dynamic program of performances at Mildura, Wentworth, Swan Hill, Echuca, Cohuna and Shepparton venues, providing regional food and wine experiences. As for love, it has no real place in her life until the fateful day she meets Alfredo. Suddenly the good time girl finds herself wanting more than a light-hearted fling, but can she leave her past behind? Performed in Italian with subtitles. • Ti?sto Kaleidoscope World Tour Australia 2010: 30 January 2010

Ti?sto now presents his new Kaleidoscope production across Australia in January and February in 2010 taking in concert shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. Ti?sto's 4th artist recording Kaleidoscope is expected to reflect the growing stature of a man who many consider to be the world's biggest DJ. Featuring Artist Collaborations with J?nsi of Sigur R?s, Kele Okereke of Bloc Party, Nelly Furtado, Calvin Harris, Tegan and Sara, Emily Haines of Metric, Kianna of Tilly and The Wall and Australia's very own, Sneaky Sound System.
